The Online Portal

CMS will email you telling you there is a message in the online portal, and explain they will not be sending a letter in the post.

I personally find this unacceptable as the online portal is unreliable, and this should not be their only method of contact.

There have been occasions when I have tried multiple times to log in using accurate credentials and the site insists they are incorrect.

However, after many attempts it will state you are already logged in.

Eventually, if you are able to access the portal and find the message they have sent you, many times the message may be unaccessible.

When downloading documents or uploading a document to defend their fraudulent claims, the site will time out. This can be very frustrating and can often take hours, if it happens at all.

When defending myself in court against a Liability order they should not have applied for, I explained the above situation, and the CMS representatives in court replied “thats just the way computers are”.

I don’t find this answer satisfactory and feel if this is to be used as a sole method of contact it should be 100% reliable.

In addition, while I often have internet access, there have been times, and undoubtably other fathers going through an ordeal with CMS, will face financial hardship and not have internet access. In this situation limiting access to vital legal documents is unacceptable and this should be dealt with immediately.
